I Bet You Wouldn’t Recognize Paul McCartney In These Acting Roles


We all recognize Paul McCartney for his stunning vocals, but did you know he can act too?

The English singer-songwriter and music guru was the bass guitarist and singer for The Beatles in the 60s where he gained world-fame.

As a two-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, first as a member of the Beatles, and second as a solo artist, there is not question this artist deserves high honors.

So you can imagine why the television and film industry are chomping at the bit to get him on screen.

Flash back to 1995 in the episode Lisa the Vegetarian, you will see Paul and Linda McCartney appear in the garden with Lisa and Apu.

Netflix’s original animated series has landed some huge voices to the show including none-other than Sir Paul McCartney himself. In episode 4 of season 2, entitled After Party it’s hinted that Paul McCartney is hiding inside the giant birthday cake.

The tease continues throughout the episode.

He has a very busy schedule so when he is able to make some time for a cameo on screen, all eyes are drawn in to see what he’s up to.

It’s not just his voice that he lends on screen, but has made acting appearances on television as well.

After Keith Richards took up the role of Captain Jack Sparrow’s father in the the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, it was only natural that Paul McCartney gives the pirate’s life a try.

Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth installment of the franchise has McCartney in the role of Captain Jack Sparrow’s uncle, a pirate prisoner.

His Uncle, also named Jack, can even be heard singing a sea shanty in the jail.

He even Tweeted about the role and everyone has gotten very excited about his involvement.

Do you remember when the 1964 British musical comedy starring the Beatles aired? During the height of Beatlemania this film was a stable for music-lovers. Time magazine rated it as one of the all-time great 100 films.

In 2006, you can find Paul McCartney on Saturday Night Live playing the role of Paul Simon and it’s hilarious. The episode also featured Alec Baldwin and Christina Aguilera, so it would be worth going back to watch this great piece.

It’s no doubt Paul McCartney has had a career of legends and even turning 75 this year, he doesn’t seem to be slowing down any!
